Career Summary

PROFILE
A young, talented midfielder with Canadian U-23 national team experience, Giuliano Frano joined Whitecaps FC 2 in January 2016 after spending the previous season with Seattle Sounders FC 2, where he earned three USL Team of the Week selections.

UNITED SOCCER LEAGUE
2016:
Frano started seven of his 22 regular season appearances in his first season with Whitecaps FC 2, tying for team lead with 15 substitute appearances, and playing in each of the three playoff matches off the bench. He scored his only goal for WFC2 against his former side, Seattle Sounders FC 2, in their June 9 match up. Frano started three times at full back and four in the midfield. 2015: Frano finished a productive first professional season with Seattle Sounders FC 2, starting 22 of his 25 league appearances and scoring two goals (both match-winners versus Timbers 2). His 2,073 minutes played were good for third most on the team among field players. He earned three USL Team of the Week in the process.

FIRST TEAM
2016:
Frano made one substitute preseason appearance for Whitecaps FC against Seattle Sounders FC on February 3.

LAMAR HUNT U.S. OPEN CUP
2015:
Frano made three starts for S2 in the 2015 U.S. Open Cup, recording an assist in a 2-1 defeat at MLS side Real Salt Lake.

COLLEGE
2013-14 (Boston College):
Frano started all 34 games in his two years playing NCAA Division I soccer at Boston College, where he led the Golden Eagles with four goals as a junior in 2013. 2011-12 (Montevallo): In his two years before transferring to Boston College, Frano played at NCAA Division II University of Montevallo in Alabama, where he started 31 of the 40 games he appeared in for the Falcons.

INTERNATIONAL
U-23:
A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Frano started one of his two appearances for Canada’s U-23 men’s national team at the 2015 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship in October. Among his teammates on that team was current WFC2 defender Jackson Farmer.

YOUTH
Frano played high school soccer for St. Marcellinus Secondary in Mississauga. 

PERSONAL
Frano was born to Italian immigrants, Rose Mary (Ierullo) and Rocco. He is the youngest of four siblings and has one brother, Francesco, and two sisters, Daniella, and Nicole Chanel.

INTERESTING FACTS 
Frano was a Peach Belt Conference All-Academic selection while he was at Montevallo. In Boston College, he enrolled in the Carroll School of Management as a finance major.
