Career Summary

PROFILE
Hailing from Surrey, BC, defender/midfielder Nick Apostol joined Whitecaps FC Residency in September 2011 after being part of the club’s Prospects program and representing Western Canada at youth level. Apostol joined the Whitecaps FC U-23 team in 2021.

UNITED SOCCER LEAGUE
2016: Apostol was called up to Whitecaps FC 2 for a two-match Texas road trip in July. He was an unused substitute at Rio Grande Valley FC on July 13, then made his professional debut three days later at San Antonio FC.

DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY
2015-16: Apostol started all 27 of his regular season appearances for Whitecaps FC Residency U-16, scoring three goals, and then made three starts and appearances in the playoffs. He also made one start in three regular season matches for Whitecaps FC Residency U-18, scoring one goal.

INTERNATIONAL
2016: Apostol participated in the Canadian U-18 series in El Salvador in October. 2015: Apostol took part in the Canada U-18 development camp in October. 2013: Apostol earned his first national team invite in November, participating in the U-15 identification camp in Vaughan.

VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC PROSPECTS
From 2008 to 2011, Apostol was a member of Whitecaps FC Prospects, where he trained under Residency staff coach Bart Choufour.

YOUTH/AMATEUR
The defender/midfielder started his soccer career in his hometown of Surrey, BC, with Guildford Athletic Club from 2006 to 2008. Apostol then made the jump to Metro level when he joined Surrey Guildford United from 2009 to 2010. It was with Surrey Guildford United that he won the 2010 League Conference Cup title. In 2011, Apostol represented Western Canada at the Danone Nations Cup.

PERSONAL
As a student, Apostol attended Riverdale Elementary School in Surrey, BC, from 2005 to 2010.

INTERESTING FACTS
Apostol is a fan of three big European clubs in English Premier League giants Liverpool FC and Manchester United FC, as well as Spanish Primera Liga club Real Madrid. The defender/midfielder is an admirer of Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid and Portugal) and Wayne Rooney (Manchester United and England). He hopes to one day play at Manchester United’s Old Trafford home. When not playing soccer, Apostol enjoys playing FIFA, while his favourite food is lasagna.
