A product of Langley, BC, Simon Colyn joined the first team in April 2018, becoming then the 15th youngest player in league history to sign an MLS contract.

2018: Colyn made his first-team debut in the 2018 MLS season finale against Portland Timbers, coming on for the departing and fellow WFC Academy product Alphonso Davies. At 16 years and 219 days old, Colyn became the second-youngest player to make an MLS appearance for Whitecaps FC, next only to Davies. He is also the third-youngest to make a first-team appearance for the ‘Caps since the club’s inception in 1974.
WHITECAPS FC RESIDENCY
Colyn features for the WFC Residency U-17 and U-19 sides in the 2018-19 US Soccer Development Academy season. At the time of signing the first-team contract, Colyn had 10 goals in 15 appearances for the U-17s, and five goals in six matches for the U-19s.
Colyn was 14 years old when he made his Canadian youth program debut in 2017 at the U-15 identification camp under coach Rob Gale.
Colyn developed with Langley United YSA and Surrey United SC before joining Whitecaps FC Residency in 2016.
