Season Ticket campaign well under way

With the new season still several months away, Vancouver Whitecaps sales department have been busy with their 2008 season ticket campaign. The Whitecaps have given both existing and new season ticket holders the opportunity to secure their seats at Swangard Stadium through special Early Bird Pricing. Fans will have until January 10, 2008, to take advantage of the Early Bird prices, and for those that make their season ticket purchase before November 30 (this coming Friday), they will be entered into a draw to win a trip for two to Las Vegas. Whitecaps season ticket holders not only receive tickets for all men’s team regular season games at Swangard next year, they also receive tickets for all Whitecaps women’s home games in the regular season. The package also includes tickets for all of the men’s and women’s team playoff games at home, as well as the 2008 international friendly. Holders will also receive advance ticket purchase rights on other soccer events at Swangard Stadium and Canadian national team games, as well as additional ticket rights for international friendlies. Those rights also include advanced ticket purchases for the proposed Whitecaps Waterfront Stadium. The club’s sales account managers - Erik Bednarczyk, Iain Allan, Paul Bradley, and Tom Tompkins – have been busy renewing existing season ticket holders and signing on new season ticket purchasers for the New Year. Whitecaps director of sales Roberto Cabrone revealed how his staff are focusing on the momentum that was generated from the recent international friendly with David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy. “We’re contacting all the people who attended the Galaxy game, as well as those who attended a Whitecaps game during this past season,” Cabrone told “We’re trying to educate them on our Early Bird specials.” For Cabrone, the recent season-ticket push has brought some encouraging results. “We’ve had a larger number of successes than we anticipated,” he said. “People are really taken with the fact that there is added value in any ticket package that they purchase through the Whitecaps. Our season ticket holders are happy that we are giving back to them for being proud and longtime supporters, and that has had an effect on our sales. One of the things that our season ticket holders are really appreciative about is that we want to hear their feedback and that we have time to listen to what some of their concerns are. The one thing that nobody gets away from is the value that Whitecaps soccer offers. We showed in the Galaxy match that world-class soccer is alive and well in Vancouver.” Bradley also believes that the season-ticket campaign is benefiting from the appearance of Beckham and the Galaxy at BC Place earlier in the month. “That game has brought the awareness of the Whitecaps to the fans, and as a result, we’re still on people’s minds,” he said. “One of the differences is we are early with our calls and that our Early Bird push is earlier than in past years. We’ve moved everything up by six to eight weeks and that has been making a real difference with our sales. The object is about getting people out to games and spending their entertainment dollar with the Whitecaps.” Vancouver Whitecaps FC wish to thank all of our season ticket holders for their support in 2007 and the many local soccer fans who attended our international friendly with the Galaxy on November 7.
