David Bowie performs at the stadium and turns his change room into a sushi bar.

Sept. 18, 1984

Pope John Paul II visits Canada and greets followers at B.C. Place.

May 2, 1986

Princess Diana and Prince Charles open Expo '86 with a speech in the stadium.

Sept. 12, 1986

Rock group The Beach Boys play for Expo '86 and bring in a sandy beach and pool for their dressing room.

1989

Former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson is discovered in the crowd at B.C. Place.

Nov. 27, 1994

B.C. Lions win the Grey Cup in a game against the Baltimore Football Club, marking the twelfth time the finals have been held at the stadium.

Dec. 31, 1996

The Three Tenors, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti, perform for New Year's Eve in front of 50,000 fans.

Jan. 5, 2007

A tear in the dome's Teflon roof causes it to deflate. Melted snow flooded into the collapsed roof and had to be pumped out. No one was injured.

B.C. Place will host the opening and closing ceremonies for the Vancouver Olympics.
