Vancouver Whitecaps FC have made a home in the Lower Mainland and British Columbia for 35 years. We value the opportunities that we have had, as a result of being located in BC.
Our organizational vision includes growing the game of soccer in BC and Canada; as well as being a significant community asset. As such, we will continue to work with all levels of government and other partners to ensure we are well positioned to bring soccer-related initiatives and their corresponding economic, social, and health benefits to people and communities across BC.
Often, we are asked which party our club endorses, from a soccer perspective. The answer is, rather than any specific party, we endorse policies and positions that are good for the sport and that will help to develop the game of soccer at all levels, both provincially and nationally. We have encouraged all parties and independent candidates to stand up for policies and positions that are good for the sport of soccer.
If you are considering soccer in your vote on May 12, we invite you to read a well-balanced and objective piece written by Friends of Soccer. It provides a thorough review of the NDP and BC Liberal positions on soccer-related issues, as well as past support for the sport. You can find the article here.
