Vancouver Whitecaps striker Charles Gbeke and right fullback Wes Knight have both been named in the USL First Division Team of the Week for the second time this season.
The pair made the weekly all-star XI for Week 10 after playing influential roles in last Friday's 3-2 home win over Miami FC Blues. Knight earned this week's honour after setting up Gbeke's two goals in the victory at Swangard Stadium. Not only did the pair earn the nod for a second time this season, the duo also claimed the same accolade in Week Five when Knight assisted on Gbeke's winning goal during a 1-0 home win over Puerto Rico Islanders on May 10.
Other players to be named in the Week 10 squad include Minnesota Thunder goalkeeper Nicolas Platter, who helped his side to their first win of the season after making seven saves in a 2-0 home victory over the high-flying Carolina RailHawks. Three other defenders in Portland Timbers' David Hayes, Puerto Rico's Cristian Arrieta, and Charleston Battery's Matt Bobo were also selected.
Three midfielders in Pato Aguilera and Godfrey Tenoff of Cleveland City Stars, as well as Jonny Steele of Puerto Rico were also chosen, while Diego Serna of Miami FC was one of three strikers to be picked.
The Week 10 Player of Week award went to Minnesota's Brian Cvilikas for his two goals in a vital 2-0 win over Carolina on Sunday.
