Chin makes Team of the Week again

By Simon Fudge/ Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Gordon Chin has been named in the USL First Division Team of the Week for the second week in a row. The Burnaby, BC, native made the USL-1's final weekly all-star team of 2009 after a fine central midfield performance during last Friday's 2-1 home win over Cleveland City Stars. The accolade comes just a week after Chin made the Week 23 squad following his display during the 2-1 home win over Austin Aztex on September 13. He was one of four midfielders to be selected in the Week 24 squad. Jonny Steele (Puerto Rico Islanders), Tsuyoshi Yoshitake (Charleston Battery), and Ricardo Sanchez (Minnesota Thunder) were the other midfielders to be selected. Charleston goalkeeper Keith Wiggans was joined by three defenders in Greg Shields (Carolina RailHawks), Kenney Bertz (Rochester Rhinos), and Matt Bobo (Charleston). This week's three strikers were Teteh Bangura (Cleveland), former Whitecaps man Nicholas Addlery (Puerto Rico), and George Josten (Portland Timbers). Josten was also selected as USL-1 Player of the Week for Week 24.
