Super Y Finals - Day Two Report

British Columbia-based teams had a mixed second day of action at the USL Super Y-League North American Finals on Saturday.

Six wins, seven draws, and four defeats were registered by all 17 Vancouver Whitecaps FC and BC Soccer 'Professional Development Partner' teams in Tampa, Florida. Coastal WFC and Mountain WFC avoided defeat, while the teams from Abbotsford Mariners and Surrey WFC were victorious again. It was tough day, however, for the sides from Coquitlam Metro-Ford, Thompson-Okanagan, and West Coast Capitals.

Coastal's five teams earned two wins and three draws on Saturday. The U-13 Girls claimed a second stalemate of their tournament campaign after a 1-1 draw with New Jersey's Match Fit Chelsea Academy. The U-13 Boys were also held to a draw after a 0-0 result with Indiana Invaders. In their second clash of the Finals, the U-14 Girls drew 1-1 with TSF Academy to lead Group C. The U-16 Girls, meanwhile, made it two wins out of two after a 1-0 victory over Florida Soccer Alliance, and share the lead in Group B with New York State's Quickstrike FC. The U-16 Boys won their second match to lead Group B after a 1-0 victory over New Jersey's Parsippany SC.

A pair of wins and draws were claimed by the four teams from Mountain. The U-13 Boys made it victory number two after a 2-0 result over Florida Soccer Alliance to lead Group C. The U-15 Girls had to settle for a second straight draw after a 0-0 result with Florida's Plantation FC, while the U-15 Boys drew

with Alpharetta United to lead Group B. The U-16 Boys earned a second straight win after a 3-1 victory over Canadian rivals Ottawa Fury. That result put them top of Group D.

Vancouver Island's West Coast Capitals had to settle for two draws and a defeat on the second day of Finals action. The U-14 Girls remain winless after a goalless draw with Chicago Magic, while the U-15 Girls lost 2-1 to Richmond Kickers. The U-16 Girls, meanwhile, drew 0-0 with Alpharetta United.

Coquitlam Metro-Ford's two teams fell to defeat on Saturday. The U-13 Girls suffered a second straight loss in Florida after falling 4-0 to Northern Virginia Majestics, while the U-14 Boys lost 1-0 to Alpharetta United to sit third in Group B.

Abbotsford Mariners' U-15 Boys lead Group D after a 1-0 victory over Michigan's Kalamazoo Kingdom. It was the Fraser Valley team's second straight win at the Finals.

Surrey's U-16 Girls lead Group A after they claimed a 2-0 win over MPS Renegades from Massachusetts. It was also their second straight win in Florida.

Thompson-Okanagan's U-14 Boys, however, remain winless after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Quickstrike FC from New York State.
