Vancouver Whitecaps FC are offering two prospects camps in August for young soccer players looking to take their game to the next level. At both camps, technical and tactical skills will be developed by the Whitecaps FC coaching staff.
Residential Camp
The 'Caps Residential Camp is four-day, three-night camp offered by the club in August. It provides U-8 to U-15 aged players with the unique opportunity to work with the ‘Caps head coaching staff, meet Whitecaps FC MLS players, practice at the official training centre, and attend the highly-anticipated match between Whitecaps FC and LA Galaxy August 24 at BC Place.
The camp, located at the National Soccer Development Centre at UBC, is intended for advanced and motivated players looking to take their game to the next level. It will involve a combination of training sessions and scrimmages.
Participants will work with coaching staff to develop their skills and also learn about topics such as nutrition and sports science. Goalkeepers will receive specialized sessions, led by the Whitecaps FC goalkeeper coaches, as well as integration into the general player sessions.
The camp will be led by Whitecaps FC Pre-Residency head coach Bart Choufour and Girls Elite head coach Jesse Symons. This is a great opportunity for youth to experience the life of a professional athlete in a world class facility at the national training centre.
“This gives aspiring boys a chance to eat, sleep, and experience soccer as part of the ‘Caps team,” said Whitecaps FC director of soccer development Dan Lenarduzzi. “We are excited to present this special experience for young players and give them the chance to be scouted for the ‘Caps Pre-Residency program.”
Each participant will receive a video keepsake of their time at the camp, documenting their experiences and events. Each video will be personalized with the participant’s specific highlights.

Day Camp
On Monday, August 12 to Friday, August 16, Whitecaps FC are also presenting the Prospects Day Camp for boys. This camp provides specialized training for both players and keepers tailored to age. The U-8 to U-11 group goes from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. PT while boys U-12 to U-15 play at 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. PT.
Girls have the opportunity to also attend a Whitecaps FC Prospects Day Camp at the same time slots mentioned as above but in the week of August 26 to Friday, August 30. All Prospects Day Camps are located at the SFU Whitecaps FC Regional Training Centre and give the chance for players to train like a young pro in a pre-season training camp.
