Tim Hortons Coaching Clinic 2013

Prior to Vancouver Whitecaps FC's match on September 28, soccer coaches from all over the Lower Mainland participated in the 2013 Whitecaps FC Coaching Clinic, presented by Tim Hortons.

During the free instructional clinic, local coaches had the opportunity to learn from members of Whitecaps FC’s technical staff who work with the club’s MLS, Residency, and Girls Elite teams. Participants learned new drills, coaching techniques, and tips from the ‘Caps professional staff.

The three-hour coaching clinic was led by MLS first-team assistant coach Paul Ritchie, high performance head coach Gordon Forrest, and Girls Elite head coach Jesse Symons. Assisting were MLS goalkeeper coach Marius Rovde, MLS assistant coach and scouting coordinator Jake DeClute, Residency staff coach Steve Meadley, high performance goalkeeper coach Raegyn Hall, U-16 head coach Rich Fagan and Pre-Residency head coach Bart Chourfour.

Below is one of the soccer drills taught during the event. This soccer drill, which is directed towards U-16 to U-18 aged players, focuses on soccer vision and awareness. Please feel free to try it out at your own practice and apply it to your team!
