VANCOUVER, BC - Midfielder Marco Bustos was named to the USL Team of the Week on Tuesday after registering a first-half brace to lead Whitecaps FC 2 to a 3-1 win at Tulsa Roughnecks FC last Friday.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native opened the scoring for WFC2 in the 14th minute when he calmly slotted the ball into the net after receiving a feed from teammate Andre Lewis.

He then tallied his fourth goal of the season to double the 'Caps lead in the 32nd minute off a penalty kick, sending Roughnecks FC goalkeeper Jake Feener the wrong way before finding the bottom-left corner.

This is the second time Bustos has been selected to the USL Team of the Week, earning the same honours for his Week 14 performance. Other WFC2 players previously given the recognition this season are Tyler Rosenlund, Victor Blasco, Brett Levis, Ben McKendry and Craig Nitti.

Whitecaps FC 2 continue their last road trip of the season with a visit to Cascadia rival Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Saturday, August 8. They are back home on Sunday, September 6 when they host defending USL champion Sacramento Republic FC at Thunderbird Stadium. For more ticket information, visit whitecapsfc2.com.
