Whitecaps FC Residency play home matches on Saturday and Sunday

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency teams return to United States Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) action this weekend against Juventus Sport Club and San Jose Earthquakes.



Saturday’s matches will take place at Surrey’s Newton Athletic Park, and Sunday’s matches at SFU Fox Field on Burnaby Mountain. The U-18s will kick off at 12 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday, with the U-16s follow at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.


U-18

The U-18s are currently riding a seven-match unbeaten streak, including four victories. In that span, they have outscored their opponents 24-3.


But the Blue and White know that this weekend’s home matches will be no easy task. On Saturday, they face Juventus Sport Club U-18. Juventus are currently in fifth place in the Northwest Division at 4W-3L-3D and 15 points.


Sunday’s opponent also brings a great challenge, with San Jose Earthquakes U-18 currently in first place in the Northwest Division with a 6W-3L-1D record, good for 19 points. The ‘Caps are only three points back with a game in hand.


U-16

The U-16s will be looking to continue their strong start to the season and remain in first place in the Northwest Division. The ‘Caps have only one loss on the season with a 7W-1L-1D record and 22 points.


Juventus Sport Club U-16 are in eighth place in the division, but will be hungry to get a big win over the division leaders.


San Jose are in fourth place in the Northwest Division with 15 points, only three points back of a playoff spot.
