Kekuta Manneh undergoes successful right foot surgery

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed today that Kekuta Manneh underwent successful fifth metatarsal fracture surgery in his right foot this morning.


“Kekuta is an important member of the club and we’re happy to hear the surgery went well,” said Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson. “We anticipate he will make a complete recovery and will be back training with the group in the fall."

Manneh suffered the injury on July 9 in the first half against Colorado Rapids.


The 21-year-old winger/forward has five goals and two assists in 17 appearances this season – his fourth in Major League Soccer. In 98 career MLS regular season appearances with Whitecaps FC, Manneh has totalled 22 goals and 12 assists.  


Whitecaps FC return to BC Place on Saturday against Orlando City SC (7 p.m. PT on TSN 1/4 and TSN 1410 radio), before hosting English Premier League side Crystal Palace FC on Tuesday.
