It was a milestone day for 15-year-old Whitecaps FC Girls Elite BC Soccer REX striker Jordyn Huitema on Tuesday as she made her Canada women's national team debut, starting the 2017 Algarve Cup final against Spain.

The Chilliwack, BC native was paired up top with Nichelle Prince, forming a dangerous duo.

She eventually was subbed out by her idol, Canadian soccer legend Christine Sinclair.

Canada were eventually downed 1-0, but nevertheless it was a memorable day for both Huitema and the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX program in partnership with BC Soccer.
