Flores has rejoined Honduran side Club Deportivo Motagua for one year

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Wednesday that midfielder Deybi Flores has rejoined Honduran side Club Deportivo Motagua on loan through June 30, 2018 - pending the receipt of the player's international transfer certificate.


Flores, 21, was on loan to the club's United Soccer League side since March and had started two matches for Whitecaps FC 2 this season.


In Major League Soccer play, Flores has appeared in a total of 10 regular season matches since joining the club in February 2015, which also includes a loan spell with CD Motagua from August to December 2016.


During his last loan spell with the Tegucigalpa club, Flores made one start in five appearances and helped them win the Liga Nacional championship during 2016-17 Apertura season. Prior to joining Whitecaps FC, Flores spent two years with CD Motagua.


At the international level, Flores earned his first senior international cap in December 2015, playing 22 minutes for a young Honduran side in their 2-0 friendly win over Cuba at Estadio Juan Ramón Brevé Vargas in Juticalpa.


The 6-foot midfielder has also donned his national team colours at the U-23, U-20, and U-17 levels, including the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup and U-20 CONCACAF Championship, the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, and the 2013 U-17 CONCACAF Championship.
