  • Manager Carl Robinson makes one change to his starting XI from last weekend’s 1-1 draw against FC Dallas as Alphonso Davies replaces Russell Teibert.
  • Homegrown Davies makes his sixth MLS start and 13th MLS appearance of the season. The 16-year-old also appeared in two Canadian Championship and four CONCACAF Champions League matches this year, scoring three goals.
  • Andrew Jacobson, a natural midfielder, makes his second consecutive start at centre back; prior to last week, his last start at centre back was on September 3, 2016. Last year, he started eight times at centre back – six in MLS and two in Canadian Championship play.
  • For the second straight match, the ‘Caps field an all-American back four who each came through the MLS SuperDraft in Jake Nerwinski, Tim Parker, Jacobson, and Jordan Harvey


INJURY REPORT:

  • Christian Bolaños: right shoulder sprain suffered on June 8 in a FIFA World Cup qualifier vs. Panama. Completed on-field workouts with medical staff this week, day-to-day
  • Christian Dean: left foot (fifth metatarsal) stress reaction suffered in training on April 25. Trained full at the end of this week, day-to-day
  • David Edgar: PCL and MCL tear, as well as a meniscus tear, in his right knee suffered on December 15, surgery on January 4. Out for the 2017 MLS season
  • Erik Hurtado: left foot fracture suffered at the end of the first half against LA on April 1. Trained full at the end of this week, week-to-week
  • Brett Levis: ACL tear in his right knee suffered during the second half of the 2016 season finale against Portland on October 23, surgery on November 8. Continued on-field workouts with medical staff this week
  • Nicolás Mezquida: right high ankle sprain suffered during the first half of the Canadian Championship semifinal second leg against Montreal Impact on May 30. Completed on-field workouts with medical staff this week, day-to-day
  • Yordy Reyna: left foot (fifth metatarsal) fracture suffered in the second half of the preseason match at Portland on February 15, surgery on February 21. Trained full this week, day-to-day
  • Kendall Waston: left hip strain and right hand fracture (surgery on June 23) suffered during the first half of the Costa Rica vs. Trinidad and Tobago FIFA World Cup qualifier on June 13. Rehabbing with the medical staff
