Another week, another surge for Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the MLS Power Rankings.

Today, the Western Conference-leading ‘Caps jumped one spot into third, their new highest ranking of the season. The ‘Caps, who are unbeaten in seven matches, trail only Toronto FC and Atlanta United FC.

Here’s what MLSSoccer.com had to say about Carl Robinson’s men:

“Now that the 'Caps have done the business on their homestand, the narrative will surely revolve around the four away matches in their final five to end the season. Good thing they're also a confident, capable road team — their 5W-6L-2D away record is tied for 3rd best in MLS — regularly punishing teams in transition.”

Whitecaps FC have an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot on Wednesday night, when they visit Seattle Sounders FC in a crucial Western Conference showdown at CenturyLink Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on TSN1 and TSN 1040 radio.
