ABOUT IWAKI FC
The city of Iwaki is based in Fukushima Prefecture – one of the regions severely affected by the Eastern Japan earthquake and tsunami in 2011. A year later, Iwaki FC was formed, debuting in the Japanese seventh division. Since then, they have been promoted twice. The now fifth division club even defeated J1 League side Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo, who the ‘Caps faced on Tuesday, in the second round of the Emperor’s Cup last year. Iwaki FC is 100 per cent owned and operated by Dome Corporation.
