LIVE UPDATES

"The boys are going to play 45 minutes each," said Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson. "We’re going to mix and match it. It’s a training game for us with 45 minutes of good, high intensity work. It just gives everyone an extra bit of fitness rather than just running them."

Robinson’s side enter Wednesday’s friendly with a 3W-1L-1D preseason record after an action-packed weekend that saw the ‘Caps defeat Las Vegas Lights FC 3-2 and draw MLS newcomers Los Angeles Football Club 4-4.

Anthony Blondell, Kei Kamara, Tim Parker, Yordy Reyna and Cristian Techera are Vancouver’s leading goalscorers in the preseason with a pair of goals each. Blondell, Bernie Ibini, and Nicolas Mezquida also lead the team with two assists.

The ‘Caps will face the Galaxy again on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in their preseason finale - watch live on whitecapsfc.com. One week later, Vancouver kicks off their eighth season in MLS at home to Montreal Impact on Sunday, March 4 (single match tickets are on sale now).

ABOUT LA GALAXY

LA Galaxy come into the match with a preseason record of 2W-2L-0D, including a 3-1 win against Whitecaps FC’s USL affiliate club Fresno FC and 3-0 win against New York City FC. They are expected to field a younger side on Wednesday.

The Galaxy struggled against the ‘Caps last season, as Whitecaps FC collected a 4-2 win at BC Place and a 1-0 away win at StubHub Center. But they have retooled their roster heading into 2018, headlined by the acquisitions of striker Ola Kamara, midfielder Perry Kitchen, and goalkeeper David Bingham.
