MLS on TSN's Luke Wileman wins Canadian Screen Award

MLS on TSN’s Luke Wileman was named Canada’s best sports play-by-play announcer this week ahead of Sunday’s sixth annual Canadian Screen Awards (5 p.m. PT on CBC).


Wileman, who beat out nominees Vic Rauter (2017 Tim Hortons Brier Final), Chris Cuthbert (2016 Grey Cup), and Mark Lee (2017 World Track and Field Championships), was recognized for his commentating of the 2016 MLS Cup Final. This is Wileman’s second Canadian Screen Award.


MLS on TSN producers Jim Panousis and Steve Arbitrante were also recognized with the best live sports event award for TSN’s broadcast of the 2016 MLS Cup Final.


TSN won a total of seven awards.


The Canadian Screen Awards are awards given annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television recognizing excellence in Canadian film, English-language television, and digital media productions.
