18-year-old 'Caps prospect Noah Verhoeven started the match for Fresno, putting in a strong 62-minute performance. Verhoeven had the best chance for either side in the first half, getting onto a ball in the box and hitting the crossbar on his shot attempt.

With the match still scoreless after 80 minutes, striker Jemal Johnson finally found the winner on a header.
