VANCOUVER, BC – Mark those calendars.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC unveiled their 2019 MLS regular season schedule on Monday, featuring no shortage of intriguing storylines. Click here for a complete breakdown of the schedule and read on for a list of some of the marquee matchups that you certainly won’t want to miss!

Saturday, March 2 vs. Minnesota United FC

The Marc Dos Santos era begins.

Whitecaps FC supporters will get their first glimpse at the new-look ‘Caps on March 2 at BC Place. In last season’s home opener, the ‘Caps defeated Montreal Impact 2-1 in front of a crowd of 27,837, setting a record for the highest attended home opener in club history.

Saturday, March 30 vs. SeattleSounders FC

It’s always a battle when Seattle comes to town.

After all, the ‘Caps and Sounders boast one of the longest-standing rivalries in North American soccer, a rivalry that is now entering its 45th year. Last season, the Sounders won both tilts against Vancouver. Can the ‘Caps turn the tables in 2019?

This will be Seattle’s lone regular season visit to BC Place.

Friday, April 5 vs. LA Galaxy

The first of three Friday night home matches in 2019, Whitecaps FC will look to tame Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his LA Galaxy in a matchup between two West Coast outfits who have new head coaches in charge after finishing just outside the playoff picture last season.

Friday, May 10 vs. Portland Timbers

The Timbers make their lone visit to BC Place on May 10.

There will be an added wrinkle to the rivalry this season, as Dos Santos renews acquaintances with his former NASL foe Giovanni Savarese. The two head coaches know each other inside out from their respective tenures in the NASL. Dos Santos had the last laugh when his San Francisco Deltas defeated Savarese’s New York Cosmos in the 2017 NASL Soccer Bowl.

What will their next encounter have in store?

Saturday, August 17 vs. DC United

A new-look DC United side led by Wayne Rooney make their first visit to BC Place, as the ‘Caps return home following a three-match road swing. DC United were 3-1 winners in last year's meeting, which also marked the debut of Rooney and the inauguration of Audi Field.

Can the 'Caps protect their home turf in 2019?

Honourable mention:

Sorry, I couldn't keep the list to just five.

Wednesday, May 15 vs. Atlanta
The defending MLS Cup champions come to town.

Friday, May 31 vs. Toronto
An all-Canadian derby ahead of the Concacaf Gold Cup break.
