LOS ANGELES, CA – Fredy Montero made his return and Inbeom Hwang donned the Blue and White for the first time as Vancouver Whitecaps FC wrapped up their preseason slate with a 1-0 loss to Los Angeles Football Club at Banc of California Stadium on Saturday evening.

Carlos Vela’s 13th-minute goal provided the difference for LAFC, as the Mexican international found the inside of the far post with a shot from just outside the corner of the six-yard box.

Zac MacMath started in net for the ‘Caps, keeping the match close with a number of saves from up close. Whitecaps FC had a pair of chances to equalize late from Derek Cornelius and Lucas Venuto, but LAFC would hold on for the 1-0 victory.
