Adnan returns to Iraqi national team ahead of World Cup qualifier vs. Bahrain

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC left back Ali Adnan has been called up to the Iraq men’s national team for a pair of matches this month. 


The product of Baghdad is looking to make his 50th cap for Iraq. He has four goals in international competition, most recently featuring and scoring at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup in January. 


In Group C of the AFC second round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification, Iraq visit Bahrain at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa on September 5. The Lions of Mesopotamia are back in action five days later in Jordan for a friendly against Uzbekistan.


The ‘Caps do not play any MLS matches during the time Adnan is with his national side.
