Ali Ahmed named to MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 4

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC wingback Ali Ahmed has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday following his performances in the 'Caps 2-0 away victory over Western Conference side San Jose Earthquakes on Matchday 4.

Ahmed, who entered the match as a substitute, scored his first goal of the season with a spectacular finish in the 86th minute. Ahmed also tallied one clearance, three recoveries, four successful duels, four dribbles, and 91% passing accuracy.

Ahmed becomes the first 'Caps player to be named to the MLS Team of the Matchday this season.

The ‘Caps will look to build on their first win of the season as they travel to Frisco, Texas to take on another Western Conference rival in FC Dallas next Saturday, March 16 at Toyota Stadium.
