Getting to know: Maxime Crepeau

He only joined the club last year, but thanks to his jaw-dropping performances on the pitch and brimming smile off it Maxime Crepeau has already become a fan favourite at the club.

In this week's edition of Getting to know, presented by GE Appliances, we sit down with the 'Caps number one keeper.

Who was your favourite soccer player growing up?
Iker Casillas.

If you weren’t a soccer player, what would you be?
I would be a PR, communications, media guy.

What’s your favourite TV show?
There has to be some drama, some suspense, some action. A car to explode, or something like that. I just watched Bad Blood, which is interesting because it’s based in my hometown, Montreal, and the documentary on Aaron Hernandez. That’s a good little three hours of your life you won’t regret if you watch it.

What’s the website or app that you visit the most?
On my phone, I open the browser, and I have four sites which are probably like Google, Audi, Mercedes and the Whitecaps.

Who would you want to play you in a movie?
I think Matt Damon would be a great one to get the role.

Any nicknames you’ve had through the years?
Max, Maxy, Creeps, Poulet, which means chicken. I have a lot.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve had to go through?
It would definitely be long term injuries when I was younger. Knock on wood, life is good now, but before when I was 16 to 18, there was a good 18 months of just injury after injury after injury. My knee, MCL and ACL, broke my hand, broke my elbow. That phase was tough mentally.

What are your goals?
I want to have a family. Cristina and I are talking, pretty soon – that would be the ultimate goal outside of football. With football, I want to help bring the country to a bigger stage, which means the Hex and ultimately, a World Cup.

What song would you sing at karaoke?
An easy one! I’m a terrible singer. Something that has some rhythm but is easy to sing. Maybe some Red Hot Chili Peppers.
