It’s almost time! Important information for the ‘Caps return to BC Place

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back at BC Place on Saturday, August 21 and ready to play in front of home supporters for the first time in 539 days!

Gates A, H, C, and G will be open for entry, starting at 5:30 p.m. PT. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. PT.

Here is some important info for fans to know about the match.

Ticket redemption

Season ticket members and pack holders are reminded that in order to attend the match, they must log on to their Account Manager and use their credit to secure tickets. They will also need to use their account manager to show their tickets at the gate upon entry.

Single match tickets are also available on Ticketmaster.

Welcome home

The Saturday, August 21 match will be the first time several Vancouver players will play in front of their home supporters at BC Place.

Five outfield players will be stepping on the pitch for the very first time including Ryan Gauld, Caio Alexandre, Javain Brown, Deiber Caicedo, and Bruno Gaspar, while an additional six players in Michael Baldisimo, Janio Bikel, Cristian Gutierrez, Leonard Owusu, Ryan Raposo and Ranko Veselinovic have played over 25 matches for the club and none in front of supporters at BC Place.

Olympic Heroes & Frontline Heroes

An amazing group of special guests will be on hand for the match, including 21 Olympic athletes, staff members from the Gold Medal winning Canada women's national team, more than 350 frontline heroes, and Dr. Bonnie Henry.

The Warmup presented by Phillips Brewing is back

The Warmup is back and better than ever in a brand new location!

The best way to get ready for the match is at this pre-game street party, starting at 2 p.m. PT on Robson Street between Beatty and Cambie.

Come for the $5 drinks, stay for the music, food, and fun.

Mobile entry

For safety and environmental purposes, all tickets for Whitecaps FC matches will be through mobile ticketing, providing a contactless and paperless experience.

Season ticket members and pack holders will need to access their tickets through whitecapsfc.com/accountmanager. Single match buyers will access their tickets through Ticketmaster.

VCH COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at Terry Fox Plaza

Vancouver Coastal Health will be on-site at BC Place Stadium (Terry Fox Plaza) with a drop-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic starting at 2 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

People aged 12 years of age and older can drop-in to be vaccinated for a first dose. You are eligible for a second dose 28 days after the first dose.

Drop-ins to this clinic are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring photo identification, your BC Personal Health Number, and your immunization record card, if you’re getting a second dose.​​

Frontline Hero of the Match presented by BMO

Every match will see a special recognition for a local frontline hero.

Throughout the pandemic, people in a number of roles have stepped up to help keep everyone healthy and safe.

Fans are invited to join in the moment to show appreciation for their dedication to our communities.

Kid Captain of the Match

Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Joshua Marquez from Canada SCORES as Kid Captain of the Match!

Canada SCORES is a registered Canadian charity that provides free after-school programming of soccer, poetry and service-learning to 200+ students through partnerships with 12 schools across Burnaby, Surrey and New Westminster.

Before the match, 'Caps club legend and ambassador Carl Valentine and Southsiders member Steve Madness will be celebrating our Kid Captain in front of fans at BC Place.

Cashless transactions

In order to reduce the potential for hand-to-hand contact, and to improve the efficiency of payment transactions, BC Place is now a cashless venue.

Concessions and food and beverage vendors will accept all major digital forms of payment including Mobile, Debit Cards, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Cash payments will not be accepted.

There will be a Cash to Card kiosk located at Sec 235 where guests can exchange cash for cards to use at the food and beverage locations throughout the stadium.

Clear bags/Bag Check

For ease of entry, Whitecaps FC recommend that fans don’t bring a bag to the stadium.

If fans do bring a bag, they should make sure it’s made of clear plastic and smaller than 12”x12”x6”. Exceptions will be made for diaper bags and medically necessary items that do not fit into a clear bag. Fans can bring one small opaque bag, but it can’t be larger than 4.5”x 6.5”. All bags will be inspected prior to entry.
