VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Javain Brown has been named to Jamaica's men's national team roster for the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup.

The Reggae Boyz open up the group stage against Whitecaps FC midfielder Julian Gressel and the United States on Saturday, June 24 at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. PT.

The second group stage match sees Jamaica take on Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday, June 28 at CITYPARK in St. Louis, Missouri, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. PT.

Finally, Brown and his country will close out the group stage on Sunday, July 2 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California against the winner of the Preliminary Round match between French Guiana and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Brown appeared in both of Jamaica's most recent friendlies against Qatar and Jordan, starting the latter match. In total, the 2021 MLS SuperDraft selection has represented his country at the senior international level 22 times since making his debut for Jamaica against Trinidad & Tobago in 2017. After joining the national team program at the U-17 level, the Kingston native made five appearances for the U-20 national team and four appearances at the U-23 level, including three matches at the 2019 Pan American Games in Peru.

This year with the 'Caps, Brown has scored one goal and added three assists in 17 starts and 20 appearances across all competitions. The fullback, who has also seen time at centre back, helped Vancouver secure back-to-back Voyageurs Cup titles for the first time in club history.

All-time, Brown has tallied two goals, as well as nine assists, in 60 starts and 76 appearances for the 'Caps across three seasons.
