In just over a week since joining forces with the Vancouver Aquarium to help preserve the beloved civic landmark, Whitecaps FC have now sold over 100,000 face masks.

"It's been a phenomenal effort from everyone involved. It speaks volumes about the community spirit in Vancouver and across Canada," added Whitecaps FC CEO Mark Pannes. "However, the job's not done. It's clear that the Aquarium is a highly valued civic asset and we must continue to work to preserve it for the next generation of Vancouverites."
Ocean Wise Conservation Association, which operates the Vancouver Aquarium, has stated that expenses to care for the animals reach over $1 million a month.
"We continue to urge everyone to spread the word. Buy high-performance athletic face masks for your family, and gift them to your friends, and just as important, make sure to share the story behind it," said Pannes.
Produced locally, the face masks are available for order on the Vancouver Aquarium website by visiting vanaquashop.org and whitecapsfc.com. Adult masks are available for $19.99 and kid's masks for $17.99, plus tax and shipping. All net proceeds from the sales benefit the Vancouver Aquarium.
