- Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson makes three changes to his XI from last Wednesday’s match against FC Dallas with right back Steven Beitashour in for Jordan Smith and midfielders Deybi Flores and Gershon Koffie in for Mauro Rosales and Cristian Techera.
- The starters have an average age of 25 years, nine months, and two weeks. The attacking six have an average age of 22 years and five months.
- Rookie defender Tim Parker makes his 19th start of the season in all competitions (13 in MLS, four in ACC, two in CCL). The centre back partnership of Parker and Pa-Modou Kah has an MLS record of 2W-1L-1D, including two consecutive clean sheets.
- Left back Jordan Harvey is making his 199th start in league play.
- Tonight will be the first time Deybi Flores, Gershon Koffie, MatÃas Laba, and Russell Teibert have all been on the pitch at the same time, let alone in the starting XI.
- Midfielders Nicolas Mezquida (left hamstring strain), Pedro Morales (right hamstring strain), and Mauro Rosales (left adductor strain) are all unavailable due to injury.
- Defenders Sam Adekugbe and Kendall Waston, midfielder Kianz Froese, and striker Darren Mattocks are also unavailable after appearing in international play yesterday.
- On the other hand, rookie Marco Bustos joined the team this morning and is in the 18 for the first time in an MLS game. Bustos made his debut for the Canadian senior men's national team in yesterday's 1-1 draw with Ghana.
