WFC head coach Carl Robinson makes two changes to his starting XI from last weekend against Philadelphia with Steven Beitashour in for Tim Parker at right back and Cristian Techera in for Mauro Rosales (quad strain) at right wing.
In 12 matches MLS regular season matches to start the season, Robinson has used 12 different starting XIs – team depth, travel, injuries, international duty, and suspensions.
Robinson’s XI will include a mix of youth and experience with an average age of 26.77 – five players 23 or under, three players in their late 20s, and three 30+ year olds. Eight different birth countries (Argentina, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Denmark, The Gambia (x2), United States (x2), and Uruguay (x2)) are represented in the starters.
Keeper David Ousted will be making his 60th consecutive MLS start, including playoffs, with the club. In MLS action, the 30-year-old keeper is second only to New York Red Bulls keeper Luis Robles (91) in consecutive matches. This season, Ousted is first in shutouts (6) and first in win (6).
Right back Steven Beitashour returns to the starting XI after suffering a quad strain in training back on April 28 and missing two MLS regular season matches. The 28-year-old native of San Jose, California, is making his 123 start in MLS regular season action and 10th appearance against Seattle.
Centre back Kendall Waston is making his 21st start in MLS regular season play. Outside of his suspension for yellow card accumulation on October 18 at San Jose, the 27-year-old defender has played the full 90 in every match since his first start for WFC on August 30 against Portland. Waston is second in clearances (87), third in blocks (11) and aerials won (44), and ninth in interceptions (35).
The 34-year-old native of Banjul, The Gambia, Pa-Modou Kah will be making his 50th start in MLS. Kah’s two assists, tie him for the league lead in assists from a defender.  
The 31-year-old Left back Jordan Harvey makes his 194 appearance in MLS regular season and 180th start. The native of Mission Viejo, California, is making his 14th start against Sounders FC.
Midfielder Matías Laba is making his 58th MLS regular season start tonight, his 42nd with WFC. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder is second in the league in tackles won (41) and second on the team in passing accuracy (84.97%).
Midfielder Russell Teibert will be making his 56th MLS regular season start tonight – all with Vancouver. The Homegrown 22-year-old Canadian international from Niagara Falls, Ontario, is seventh in MLS with a 88.6 per cent passing completion rate (among players who have completed at least 100 passes).
Whitecaps FC newest addition winger Cristian Techera makes his first MLS regular season start today. The 22-year-old native of Quebracho, Uruguay, has made two appearances with WFC, including 78 minutes last weekend against Philadelphia.
Attacking midfielder Pedro Morales will be making his 39th MLS regular season start for WFC. The 29-year-old native of Hualpén, Chile, has three game-winning assists (best in the league), is second in chances created (30) and tied for third in big chances created (4) and 10th in touches (715).
Winger Kekuta Manneh makes his second consecutive start and 26th in MLS regular season action. The 20-year-old native of Bakau, The Gambia, has scored four goals in five matches against Sounders FC.
Striker Octavio Rivero has started every match to start the season. The 23-year-old Uruguayan is tied for third in the league in goals (6) and game-winning goals (2), second in shots (40), first in shots on goal (19).
