CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP BEGINS: Whitecaps FC begin their Canadian Championship campaign in their second match of their four-game homestand at BC Place. The winner of the match, which will mark the first all-time meeting between the two sides, will go on to face Cavalry FC in Calgary on Wednesday, May 25.

'CAPS CONNECTIONS: 'Caps fans will recognize a few familiar faces come Wednesday night. Valour head coach Phil Dos Santos was previously an assistant coach with the Blue and White from 2019 to 2021 with then-fellow assistant coach Vanni Sartini. Brett Levis spent six years with the club, while Jonathan Sirois was briefly with the 'Caps as an emergency goalkeeper, and Matteo de Brienne is a graduate of the Whitecaps FC BMO MLS academy. Cristián Gutiérrez's twin brother Diego also plays for the club from Winnipeg, Manitoba.

HOME COOKIN': Following the mid-week Canadian Championship clash, the Blue and White will resume MLS play on Saturday, May 14 against Western Conference opponents San Jose Earthquakes in their second consecutive home match in MLS. Dating back to last season, Vancouver has tallied a 9W-2L-2D record in their last 13 matches at BC Place.
