MAPLE LEAF MASTERY: Vancouver Whitecaps FC continued their impressive start to the 2026 campaign with a commanding 3-0 win over Canadian rivals Toronto FC on Saturday at BC Place. In front of 24,533 supporters, it was a night of milestones. Thomas Müller’s brace brought him to 11 goals, setting a club MLS-era record for the most through 17 appearances. Brian White added his first goal of the season to hit 80 across all competitions, moving into sole possession of second place on the club’s all-time scoring list behind only the great Domenic Mobilio (170). The Blue and White also extended their shutout streak to four consecutive matches across all competitions, totalling 360 minutes without conceding. The club record to begin an MLS regular season is 427 minutes, recorded in 2012, while the longest shutout streak in MLS play overall stands at 443 minutes, set in 2023.

KINGS OF CASCADIA: The reigning Cascadia Cup champions begin their pursuit of a ninth title this Saturday, March 7, travelling to Oregon for their first MLS road match of the year against the Portland Timbers at Providence Park. The ’Caps are 3W-1L-0D in their last four visits to the Rose City, outscoring Portland 12-5 over that span. The stretch includes a 4-1 victory in last year’s season opener and a dominant 5-0 playoff win in 2024. Overall, Vancouver is 5W-2L-3D in its past 10 meetings with Portland dating back to 2022.

UPCOMING HOMESTAND: Following Saturday’s Cascadia clash, Vancouver returns to Concacaf Champions Cup action, hosting fellow Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders FC in the Round of 16 first leg on Thursday, March 12 at BC Place. The ’Caps then remain at BC Place to host Minnesota United FC on Sunday, March 15 in MLS play before travelling to Spokane, Washington for the second leg on Wednesday, March 18 at ONE Spokane Stadium. Vancouver will then continue its run at BC Place with an MLS homestand, hosting San Jose Earthquakes, Portland Timbers, New York City FC, Sporting Kansas City, and Colorado Rapids before embarking on five consecutive MLS road matches ahead of the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup break. The ’Caps will look to build on head coach Jesper Sørensen’s strong home record, as the Dane has posted a 19W-3L-7D mark across all competitions at BC Place since taking the reins.
