He loves The Weeknd, french fries and is looking to get into coaching after his playing days are over.

In this edition of "Quality Time", presented by GE Appliances, we sit down with Austrian midfielder Alessandro Schöpf.

What’s your hometown (or country) known for?

The mountains, they’re a bit like here but I think bigger.

What’s something that reminds you of home?

The city has a lot of greens, it’s a really green city and I’m coming from the land so it’s very similar, this reminds me of home.

What do you love most about Vancouver?

That you have nearly everything here, you have a cool downtown, you have beaches, you have mountains, nearly everything.

Who’s one celebrity you’d most like to meet?

Andrés Iniesta.

If you had to swap places with a teammate for a day, who would you choose?

The coach, Vanni Sartini, to see how it is you prepare for trainings and how you prepare for games.

There’s a zombie apocalypse and you can choose three teammates to help you survive it. Who are you picking?

Gressel, Jungwirth, Berhalter.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

To fly.

Describe your dream home.

I would say big, big house with indoor and outdoor pools, big space, like everything in it so like a villa, where you have your home, your garden, everything, on the beach so you get the sun, the weathers always good.

What do you think you will do once your playing days are over?

Go into coaching, I hope that I can get my license.

What’s your favourite genre of music?

Like R&B but I listen to a lot of German rap, too.

Who’s your favourite artist?

Right now, maybe “The Weeknd” because I went to the concert and he has a lot of good songs.

What’s your favourite movie?

“Gladiator”

Describe your dream vacation.

Maldives, I was there with my wife and it was really beautiful, it was maybe my dream holiday.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Never give it up, I think this is the most important because sometimes life is not running like you want so I think never give up is good, you always have to go on no matter what happens, I think especially as a professional athlete you sometimes have situations where maybe things go wrong but it is what it is and you just have to work hard and go on.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

Preparing for training, just put on my clothes after I brush my teeth.

Describe the worst haircut you’ve ever had.

I think it was when I was 15-16, it was like a Vokuhila, it was the worst.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

French fries, I love french fries.

What would the title of your autobiography be?

Being Human.

What’s the strangest job you’ve ever had?

Only job I’ve ever had is playing football.

What is your cellphone wallpaper?

My wife and I.

What’s something you like to do besides football?

I love drinking coffee.
