The 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs are coming to BC Place!

We'll be taking on LAFC in Round 1 Match 2 of the 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs.

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Wednesday that more than 21,000 tickets have already been sold for the ‘Caps Decision Day match, presented by BCLC, this coming Saturday, October 21 against Los Angeles FC. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. PT.

All suites, as well as The Asahi Super Dry Landing, are sold out for Saturday’s match.

Whitecaps FC will be looking to end the regular season with a victory, and a potential opportunity to move into a top four position and home field advantage in the first round of the MLS Cup Playoffs.

Here are some other important notes for fans heading to the match.

Playoff information and tickets
Following the final whistle, Whitecaps FC will have confirmed their final position in the Western Conference standings and their first round opponent, set to be played in a best-of-3 series between October 28 to November 12.

Dates for the Round One Best-of-3 playoff series will be announced on Sunday. For more information visit whitecapsfc.com/playoffs.

Rally towels and more from BCLC
BCLC, the official gaming partner of Whitecaps FC, is proud to be the match night sponsor for Vancouver's Decision Day.

As part of the festivities, BCLC is giving away rally towels to the first 10,000 fans to cheer on the 'Caps, as well as expanding the BCLC Community Section to 200 seats for local charities and deserving non-profit organizations across the province.

BCLC Soccer Showdown
Three lucky fans from the BCLC Community Section, including the Greater Vancouver Foodbank and the Vancouver Pride Society, will be chosen to take part in the BCLC Soccer Showdown, a halftime obstacle course. The winner will receive a BCLC and Whitecaps FC prize pack.

Russell Teibert 300

On August 26, Russell Teibert made his 300th all-time appearance for Vancouver Whitecaps FC as the 'Caps defeated Portland Timbers 3-2.

Teibert, the longest serving player on Whitecaps FC and an original member of the team that kicked off the MLS era in 2011, has been with the club since first joining the academy as a 15-year-old in 2008.

Please join in congratulating Teibert and recognizing this incredible achievement prior to kickoff.

Alumni
Ahead of the club’s 50th anniversary in 2024, Whitecaps FC will be hosting more than 70 alumni on both the men’s and women’s sides from across the NASL, CSL, USL, and MLS eras.

The Warmup pre-match patio party
The Warmup pre-match patio party kicks off at 3 p.m. PT on Terry Fox Plaza. Drinks start at $5, with DJ CJ, facepainters and a Whitecaps FC player signing autographs at 5 p.m. PT.

March to the Match

Join the supporters on the March to the Match down Robson street to BC Place.

The march will depart from Dublin Calling at 4:45 p.m. PT, and will also see supporters joining from the Ox Pub on Robson and Granville.

National anthems
Acclaimed and award-winning Bollywood singer and performer Jugpreet Bajwa returns to BC Place for a second time this season to sing the national anthems.

Bajwa was recently awarded the Breaking Barriers award at the recent Darpan Extraordinary Achievement Awards, in which Vancouver Whitecaps FC are a proud sponsor.

Win a TV courtesy of TELUS
Stay tuned to the videoboard during pre-match and halftime and scan the QR code to take part in a game that will land one lucky winner a new TV courtesy of TELUS.

Hitmen Drumline
Keep an eye out on Terry Fox Plaza before the match, in the concourse, and during the match at the top of sections 228/229 for the Hitmen Drumline.

Stand by Me
Make sure to stay in your seats post-match for every Whitecaps FC home win. Get your phones out and join the team in the singing of Stand by Me!

Gates
Gates A, C, H, E, G, and the Accessible drop-off/pick-up located along Pacific Boulevard at section 147 will all be open for entry starting at 5 p.m. PT. Gates for suite entry will open at 4:30 p.m. PT.

Kickoff is officially at 6:15 p.m. PT.

$5 Menu!
BC Place has announced a new $5 menu this year, in collaboration with Sodexo Live!, including $5 beer, hot dogs, nachos, and popcorn. Limited-release items may appear on the menu throughout the year. The $5 Menu is available at Dawson’s Hot Dogs stands at sections 201 and 227.

Kids Combo
The Kids Combo at Dawson's Hot Dogs (214 and 241) is $6.50 for a hot dog, chips, fountain soda. The Kids Combo at Lions Gate Grill (228 and 254) is $6.50 for chicken strip, fries and fountain soda.

Kid Captains
Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Weston and Bennett Openshaw from BC Children's Hospital as Kid Captains for Saturday’s Decision Day match against Los Angeles FC.

In April of 2022, Weston was diagnosed with Leukemia. At the time, doctors told his parents that his identical twin, Bennett, had a 20 per cent chance of developing Leukemia. Four months after Weston's diagnosis, Bennett was also diagnosed with Leukemia. It's been an emotional, and physical marathon for Weston and Bennett's family. Despite their diagnosis, and with the help of the dedicated team at BC Children’s Hospital, the boys are their usual rambunctious selves.

Supporter of the Match
Saturday’s supporter of the match will be Iain Allen from the Southsiders supporters group.

Iain has been a season ticket holder for more than 20 years, since 2002, and a fan of the ‘Caps since 1984. His favourite part about being a member of the Southsiders is being around a group as excited about Whitecaps FC as much as he is.

The Asahi Super Dry LandingThe Asahi Super Dry Landing is sold out for Saturday's match. However, spaces remain available for the playoffs.

The Asahi Super Dry Landing provides the perfect atmosphere to kick back with the squad, entertain clients, or enjoy an evening with the family with the best views in BC Place – right behind the player benches! Asahi Super Dry is also available at sections 219, 234, 248.

Last call
The last call for alcohol in the stadium will be the 75th minute of the match.

Videoboard special messages

Clear bags/Bag Check
For ease of entry, Whitecaps FC and BC Place recommend you don’t bring a bag to the stadium. If you do bring a bag, make sure it’s made of clear plastic and smaller than 12”x12”x6”. Exceptions will be made for diaper bags and medically necessary items that do not fit into a clear bag. You can bring one small opaque bag, but it can’t be larger than 6.5”x 8.5”. All bags will be inspected prior to entry.

Mobile entry
All tickets for Whitecaps FC matches are through mobile ticketing, providing a contactless and paperless experience. Season ticket members and pack holders will need to access their tickets through whitecapsfc.com/accountmanager. Single match buyers will access their tickets through Ticketmaster.

Cashless transactions
In order to reduce the potential for hand-to-hand contact, and to improve the efficiency of payment transactions, BC Place is now a cashless venue. Concessions and food and beverage vendors will accept all major digital forms of payment including Mobile, Debit Cards, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Cash payments will not be accepted. There will be a Cash to Card kiosk located at Sec 235 where guests can exchange cash for cards to use at the food and beverage locations throughout the stadium.
