Spectator Information: Tigres come to BC Place on Friday, The Warmup patio party starts at 4pm

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC will play one of the giants of Concacaf on Friday as they face LIGA MX powerhouse Tigres UANL in the Round of 32 of the Leagues Cup at BC Place. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. PT.

Here are a few important notes for all fans heading to the match.

The Warmup

The Warmup is here for Leagues Cup! Starting at 4 p.m. the patio is open on Terry Fox Plaza, including $5 beers and food specials.

DJ Alibaba will be spinning tunes on the plaza, with facepainting and games! Whitecaps FC defender Luís Martins will also be on hand signing autographs from 6:30-7:00 p.m.!

Los Dorados

Los Dorados mariachi band

Starting at 6:30 p.m. PT, Los Dorados Canada mariachi band will be playing on Terry Fox Plaza. Come in, join the fun, and get ready for a fantastic atmosphere for the Leagues Cup!

Player arrivals

Welcome the 'Caps players as they arrive to the stadium. Interested fans should arrive at the West entrance gate off Expo Boulevard by 5 p.m. to greet the players, as they arrive by 5:15 p.m. to BC Place.

Please note that space is limited and for Whitecaps FC fans only. This will not include the arrival of Tigres players.

FEATURED BEVERAGE - IG POST

Neutral site

While Friday’s match will be played at BC Place, it will be a neutral site for this Leagues Cup knockout round match. That means that unlike a regular season match, the ‘Caps are not the home team – they will be Team B, while Tigres as the higher seed will be Team A.

What happens if it's tied?

This is a knockout round match, with the winner advancing to the Round of 16.

If the score is tied after 90 minutes, the match will go straight to a shootout.

What happens next?

The winner of Friday's match will advance to play the winner of Portland Timbers and CF Monterrey of LIGA MX in the Round of 16.

Should the 'Caps play Monterrey, the match will be played at BC Place this coming Tuesday, August 8. If the 'Caps play Portland, it will be played at Providence Park.

Gates
Gates A, C, H, E, G, and the Accessible drop-off/pick-up located along Pacific Boulevard at section 147 will all be open for entry starting at 6:30 p.m. PT. Gates for suite entry will open at 6 p.m. PT.

Kickoff is officially at 7:39 p.m. PT.

Supporters section

Please note that sections 248 to 207 are Whitecaps FC supporters sections, including general admission in sections 253-254. Fans in the supporters sections should expect standing, flag waving, drums, and loud singing, chanting, and cheering.

Opposing team apparel is not permitted in the supporters section. For this match that includes, but is not limited to, jerseys and apparel from Tigres, LIGA MX, the Mexican national team, and any other jersey that is not Whitecaps FC.

Fans supporting Tigres can join supporters in section 218-219, row KK and above. If you have purchased tickets to the wrong section, you can visit guest services at section 234 on the concourse.

BC Place has announced a new $5 menu this year, in collaboration with Sodexo Live!, including $5 beer, hot dogs, nachos, and popcorn. Limited-release items may appear on the menu throughout the year. The $5 Menu is available at Dawson’s Hot Dogs stands at sections 201 and 227.

Kids Combo
The Kids Combo at Dawson's Hot Dogs (214 and 241) is $6.50 for a hot dog, chips, fountain soda. The Kids Combo at Lions Gate Grill (228 and 254) is $6.50 for chicken strip, fries and fountain soda.

Last call
The last call for alcohol in the stadium will be the 75th minute of the match.

Clear bags/Bag Check
For ease of entry, Whitecaps FC and BC Place recommend you don’t bring a bag to the stadium. If you do bring a bag, make sure it’s made of clear plastic and smaller than 12”x12”x6”. Exceptions will be made for diaper bags and medically necessary items that do not fit into a clear bag. You can bring one small opaque bag, but it can’t be larger than 6.5”x 8.5”. All bags will be inspected prior to entry.

Mobile entry
All tickets for Whitecaps FC matches are through mobile ticketing, providing a contactless and paperless experience. Season ticket members and pack holders will need to access their tickets through whitecapsfc.com/accountmanager. Single match buyers will access their tickets through Ticketmaster.

Cashless transactions
In order to reduce the potential for hand-to-hand contact, and to improve the efficiency of payment transactions, BC Place is now a cashless venue. Concessions and food and beverage vendors will accept all major digital forms of payment including Mobile, Debit Cards, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Cash payments will not be accepted. There will be a Cash to Card kiosk located at Sec 235 where guests can exchange cash for cards to use at the food and beverage locations throughout the stadium.
