These wishes are more than just moments of happiness; they are crucial in improving medical outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for both the children and their families.
Kid Captain
Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Christopher from Make-A-Wish Canada as Kid Captain for this Sunday's match versus Houston Dynamo FC.
Christopher was born with a gene mutation which led him to develop hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or a thickening of the septal muscle of the heart. He has been dealing with ongoing issues since his diagnosis at age five, living with high risk for sudden cardiac arrest and possibly facing a heart transplant in future. But that doesn’t stop him from having fun! He enjoys video games, hanging out with his friends, playing with his baby brother, playing sports, and going on family walks. It is our honour to help make Christopher’s wish come true through Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Please join in welcoming Christopher to the match!
Supporter of the Match
Sunday's Supporter of the Match will be Bunny Horne from the Sisters supporters group.
Bunny has been a season ticket member since 2012. Among her many wonderful experiences, a highlight was passing on one of her signature rug hooking projects for Alphonso Davies' last game in 2018, and then receiving a phone call from him! She was also proud to represent the Sisters in presenting Tosaint Ricketts with the Humanitarian of the Year award.
Her favourite part about being in a supporters group is the friendships you make with other fans, and the mutual respect that they share.
