Kid Captains
Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Weston and Bennett Openshaw from BC Children’s Hospital as Kid Captains for Saturday's home opener against Charlotte FC.

In April of 2022, Weston was diagnosed with Leukemia. At the time, doctors told his parents that his identical twin, Bennett, had a 20 percent chance of developing Leukemia. Four months after Weston's diagnosis, Bennett was also diagnosed with Leukemia. It's been an emotional, and physical marathon for Weston and Bennett's family. Despite their diagnosis, and with the help of the dedicated team at BC Children’s Hospital, the boys are their usual rambunctious selves.

Please join in welcoming Weston and Bennett to the match!

Supporter of the Match
Saturday’s supporter of the match will be Lauti Horobiec from Vancouver Albion.

Lauti has been a supporter for the past two years, with his first game being the victory in the Canadian Championship against York. His favourite Whitecaps moment is when we beat the Galaxy 4-2 last year, where he says that the atmosphere was crazy, and being with his friends celebrating was even better. His favourite part of being in a supporter group is being able to create connections and friendships with people with the same interests, and having fun at games with them. He also learned Stand By Me on piano during this offseason to show his friends in the Albion, since the Whitecaps have become his favourite thing since moving to Vancouver from Argentina.

KidSport 50/50
Vancouver Whitecaps FC are proud to partner with KidSport BC for the club’s 50/50 program! All proceeds from the 50/50 program will be donated to KidSport BC to help improve the lives of children and youth in our community.
