VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC acquired experienced goalkeeper Evan Newton from Indy Eleven, the club announced on Friday. Newton has agreed to a two-year contract through 2022, with a club option for 2023, and will officially join the roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate, medical, work permit and visa.

"This year, the schedule for both domestic and international play will be extremely busy and it's important we are covered in every position. We are very pleased to welcome Evan and his family to our club."
