Waston named to MLS Team of the Week

Kendall Waston - Back of Jersey

The “Big Man” had a big game on Saturday night in Carson, California and it didn’t go unnoticed.

Centre back Kendall Waston was named to the MLS Team of the Week on Monday after racking up a whopping 14 clearances in Vancouver’s 1-0 win over defending MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy.

If ending LA’s 29-match home unbeaten streak wasn’t enough, Waston and the ‘Caps also managed to do so without conceding a single shot on target.

The 6-foot-5 Costa Rican, who has played more minutes than any other outfield player this season, now leads MLS with 125 clearances and 90 headed clearances.

Also of note, the ‘Caps have now recorded a clean sheet in 12 of Waston’s 25 MLS starts.

Coincidence?

I think not.
