Although most of the focus during MLS Cup weekend is targeted at the two competing clubs on the field, it is also a time to recognize the hard work done by the front office staff from all 18 clubs. Behind all the promotions, web features, ticket sales and more, there is a strong support staff that makes it all come together.
At this year’s MLS Cup, Vancouver Whitecaps FC were recognized for their behind the scenes achievements in their first season. The ticketing sales team was acknowledged as they helped the 'Caps become one of just five clubs to exceed the benchmark of 12,000 season ticket holders.
As well, our sales team was recognized in the group sales category for the ‘Kickin’ with the ‘Caps program presented by BMO. The program brings Whitecaps FC together with other local soccer clubs, giving the local soccer clubs an enhanced experience at games. For example, clubs have the chance to fundraise by selling tickets to ‘Caps matches and youth club members also have the chance to act as player escorts, flag bearers and ball boys/girls.
It was with innovative programs like ‘Kickin’ with the ‘Caps’ and sheer hard work that our sales team was able to go above and beyond for the club last season. This season is looking just as promising!
