Whitecaps FC raise $21,385 for #BuckUp for Mental Health presented by Desjardins Insurance

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC concluded #BuckUp for Mental Health presented by Desjardins Insurance on Saturday, May 30. The campaign raised $21,385 in support of Covenant House Vancouver. The campaign, which ran from Tuesday May 19, culminated at the conclusion of the ‘Caps match on Saturday, May 30 when Whitecaps FC defeated Real Salt Lake at BC Place.


“We would like to thank all of our fans, partners, players, coaches and staff who came together to raise funds for #BuckUp for Mental Health,” said Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi. “Together we are making a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our community.”


Covenant House Vancouver is one of Whitecaps FC’s community partners and works to improve the lives of more than 1,500 homeless youth, most of whom struggle with mental illness. One of Covenant House Vancouver’s key initiatives includes a soccer program which has proven successful in the rehabilitation of youth including Ali, who was featured in the #BuckUp video and is also a game day employee of Whitecaps FC.
