Career Summary

PROFILE
A defender from Uxbridge, Ontario, Connor Guilherme spent his high school years in Unionville, Ontario, and moved to Vancouver to play for the University of British Columbia (UBC) men's soccer team. In January of 2019 he signed on to play for the Whitecaps FC Development Squad.

COLLEGE CAREER
As a UBC Thunderbird, Connor was a member of the varsity men’s soccer team for five seasons. In his final two seasons as a Thunderbird, Connor was co-captain, winning back-to-back Canada West Championships. In his final season, he started 19 of 20 games and scored five goals, including two goals at the 2018 U Sports National Championship.

PREMIER DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE
Played in 12 of 14 matches with TSS Rovers in the Northwest Division in 2018. Won the Juan de Fuca Plate, the regional competition against BC rivals Victoria Highlanders FC.

YOUTH/AMATEUR
Was a member of the U-15 and U-16 Ontario Provincial teams. Attended Bill Crothers Secondary School where he was captain of the varsity soccer team. Played U-21 Provincial Elite in his final youth U-17 year as a right back, starting all games with his team winning the league, having the least goals against, most goals for, and most clean sheets. During this time he was teammates with current Whitecaps FC player Derek Cornelius.

PERSONAL
Connor graduates from UBC in May 2019 with a degree in Geographical Sciences, minor in Arts/Political Science. Connor credits his work ethic as the attribute that has enabled his success both on and off the pitch.

INTERESTING FACTS
Spent three months training with Cruzeiro EC in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Travelled to Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain and China for soccer training and competitions. Holds Canadian and Portuguese citizenships and credits Carles Puyol as his soccer idol. His favourite food is frango churrasco.
