Career Summary

PROFILE
A 6-foot-2 striker, Kyle Greig joined Whitecaps FC 2 in January 2016, bringing three years of USL experience to the young second-year side. In his first season in the Blue and White, Greig led the WFC2 with 11 goals in his 25 starts and 27 regular season appearances. Named captain ahead of the season, he played every minute of the 'Caps three playoff matches in 2016, scoring a goal in each of their two wins. Greig was signed to a first-team contract on December 19, 2016. On July 11, 2017, he was loaned out to FC Cincinnati through December 31, 2017. On November 27, 2017, Whitecaps FC announced that the club will not exercise the option on his contract.

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER 
2017:
Greig made his MLS debut on April 22 at Portland, coming on as a late substitute in his only league appearance before being loaned out to USL side FC Cincinnati.

CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP
2017: Greig made one start in two appearances in the Canadian Championship semifinal series versus Montreal Impact, scoring his first goal for the first team in the second leg. 

CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 
2016-17: Greig made five substitute CONCACAF Champions League appearances, assisting on the added-time winner at Sporting KC on September 13 to help the 'Caps clinch a quarterfinal berth.

Greig made his debut for the first team in the international friendly against Crystal Palace FC on July 19.

UNITED SOCCER LEAGUE
2017:
Greig made five starts and appearances for Whitecaps FC 2 before being loaned out to FC Cincinnati in July 2017. Playing under former WFC2 head coach Alan Koch, Greig scored one goal in 10 starts and 17 regular season appearances for FC CIncinnati. 2016: Greig led Whitecaps FC 2 with 11 goals, in addition to his three assists, while starting 25 of his 27 regular season appearances in his first year with Whitecaps FC 2. In the playoffs, the WFC2 captain played every minute of the three playoff matches, scoring a goal in each of their two wins. Greig scored in six of his first seven matches in a WFC2 uniform, including a two-goal performance in the 4-3 win against then top-ranked LA Galaxy II in Week 8 to earn USL Team of the Week honours. Greig earned a spot on the USL Team of the Week bench in Week 9 after scoring in the first minute of WFC2's 3-1 win over Timbers 2. His 11-goal total set a new club single regular season record for the second-year team. 2014-15: Greig spent the past two seasons with Oklahoma City Energy FC. In 2015, Greig was second on the team with seven goals, adding one assist, and was named Player of the Week for Week 12 after scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Timbers 2. His contributions that season helped Energy FC finish in second place in the Western Conference. Greig would go on to make two playoff appearances as OKC made it to the Western Conference finals. In the 2014 season, Greig led OKC with nine goals, while also adding two assists. 2013: Greig started his career with Wilmington Hammerheads FC in 2013, finishing second on the team with six goals and added one assist.

2013-15:
Greig scored three goals in three U.S. Open Cup appearances with Oklahoma City and Wilmington. 

UNITED SOCCER LEAGUES PREMIER DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE
2010-12:
In the summers between college seasons, Greig played for Kansas City Brass, scoring 10 goals and recording four assists in three years. 

COLLEGE
2008-11:
Prior to beginning his professional career, Greig played collegiately at National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) school Benedictine College, scoring 43 goals over his four years and earning Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) all-conference honours three times. As a sophomore, he helped the Ravens qualify for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 1983. 
 
INTERESTING FACTS
Greig married his college-sweetheart in May 2015 and then scored the match-winner in the following game against Austin Aztex on May 31. In the next match, he scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Timbers 2, earning him a USL Player of the Week selection.
