500 fans to travel to Portland Timbers match on August 20

Portland Match

Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Uniglobe Vision Travel Group are pleased to let fans know that all away supporter tickets to the Whitecaps FC versus Portland Timbers match are now sold out. 500 fans will travel from Vancouver to Portland to support Whitecaps FC as they play the Timbers for the first time in Major League Soccer.

The rivalry between these two teams dates back many years, and fans travelling to Portland with Uniglobe will have the opportunity to take in the action, first hand, with other fellow fans.

This is the second trip of its kind that Uniglobe has organized for fans, the first being in June when Vancouver took on Seattle Sounders FC at Qwest Field in Seattle, with the match ending in a thrilling 2-2 draw.  This match will forever be remembered as Whitecaps FC were down 2-1 in the dying minutes of the pivotal Cascadia Cup match-up when Eric Hassli flicked the ball to his right foot and volleyed a shot straight from the right edge of the Sounders FC box to the top-left corner, evening the score.  This sent the dedicated section of Whitecaps FC fans into a frenzy.  This moment has been described by many as one of the most memorable of this MLS season.

Although Uniglobe does not have similar packages for all away matches, Uniglobe staff will be happy to assist fans with creating their own unique personalized packages for all Whitecaps FC away matches.  Fans are encouraged to visit www.uniglobevisiontravel.net/whitecaps

Next year, be sure to book early to secure your spot on the Uniglobe Vision Travel trips to Seattle and Portland.

Fans who have purchased tickets through Uniglobe Vision Travel for the Saturday, August 20 match versus Portland Timbers will depart Vancouver at 8 a.m. PT on Saturday, August 20th, and will arrive back in Vancouver on Sunday, August 21.  Fans who need to pick-up their tickets can do so at the Vancouver Whitecaps FC office at 375 Water Street, Vancouver.
