WHITECAPS FC IN THE NEWS:

What a win! The chants rained down at BC Place on Saturday afternoon as the 'Caps won a thrilling match over Western Conference table toppers San Jose Earthquakes. The win was the ‘Caps fourth straight and they will look to carry that momentum forward against FC Edmonton in the second leg of their semi-final of the Amway Canadian Championship. Omar Salgado is making quite the impact on the pitch recently. Head coach Martin Rennie realized quickly what he had in Salgado and decided to get him to transition from striker to left wing. On the left, Salgado is making his mark. (Martin MacMahon - Sportsnet.ca)

The women’s season is right around the corner as well, with the season opener coming this Sunday, May 13 in Victoria against Highlanders FC.
