Hurtado's goal against Seattle beats out Donovan's record-setter, wins MLS Goal of the Week

Hurtado goal vs. Seattle

If Seattle Sounders FC entered last weekend not knowing how good Erik Hurtado can be on the ball, they surely do now.

Hurtado scored a wonderful goal that saw him beat multiple defenders on the dribble before unleashing a well-placed shot in the Vancouver Whitecaps FC's 2-2 draw with the Sounders last Saturday. The impressive solo effort from the speedy youngster was so good that it won Week 12's MLS Goal of the Week honours, claiming more than 42 per cent of the vote.

That total was well ahead of runner-up Landon Donovan, who earned 24.48 per cent of the vote for his record-setting goal in the LA Galaxy's 4-1 rout of the Philadelphia Union.

Hurtado becomes the second Whitecaps FC player to win an MLS Goal of the Week award this year. Sebastian Fernandez took home the honours in the opening week of the season.

Final Votes (Week 12):

1. Erik Hurtado (VAN): 42.36%
2. Landon Donovan (LA): 24.48%
3. Gershon Koffie (VAN): 11.98%
4. Robbie Keane (LA): 11.42%
5. Shane O'Neill (COL): 9.76%
