Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson starts the same XI as last weekend’s 3-0 win over Houston Dynamo. Robinson started the same XI in back-to-back MLS matches only one other time this year.
Five starters – Harvey, Koffie, Laba, Ousted, and Waston – also started last year’s Whitecaps FC playoff match, while Manneh was a second half sub. Harvey and Koffie also started Vancouver’s first-ever MLS playoff match three years ago in LA.
The ‘Caps have yet to win a playoff game in MLS.
Four ‘Caps are set to make their MLS Cup Playoffs debut, including Russell Teibert (who was an unused sub in 2014 and 2012).
Midfielder Pedro Morales – who suffered a right hamstring strain in the second half at San Jose on October 3 – returns to the 18-man roster.
Today’s starters have an average age of 25 years, six months, and one week. Whitecaps FC are the youngest team in MLS.
