Whitecaps FC and winger Lucas Venuto mutually agree to part ways

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Thursday that the club and winger Lucas Venuto have agreed to a mutual contract termination.

“We are thankful to Lucas for his commitment to the club while he was with us,” said Marc Dos Santos, Whitecaps FC head coach. “The timing of this move provides Lucas the best opportunity to continue his career closer to home, while it gives us additional roster flexibility for the remainder of this season and future years.”

Venuto, 24, made 13 starts and 22 appearances in MLS play with Whitecaps FC, recording three goals and one assist. The Brazilian also made two substitute appearances in the Canadian Championship.
